Because
a symbol used in maths to explain a statement.
Why did you make this one?
I dare you to explain.
'Cause I don't trust my thoughts
and I don't quite believe that they mirror Your's
and blame is a poor man’s game.
And I've got some ugly faces,
that stubborn pride in my chest.
Jealousy flows in my arteries, and I'm addicted to life's certainties
swallow the truth
I'm restless.
There's time still
to know and be known
to keep choosing the narrow way
that's calling us home.
And though I may never find
where this pain comes from,
my life is defined
by the mystery of love.
I made you because I love you,
I don't need to explain,
your thoughts can't always be trusted
and I can see that some are locked and rusted.
Here, take my wisdom and
hear with your own ears again.
There’s time still
to know and be known,
to keep choosing this narrow way,
I'm calling you home.
And though you may never find
where this pain comes from,
your life is defined
by this Father’s love.
This poem is from a poetry collection of mine called ‘I Pray Thee, Mark Me’ where I take unusual, defunct or unused glyphs and punctuation as an anchoring theme for the words written in tempest seasons.
