I Pray Thee, Mark Me: Authority

Authority Point

meant to show that a writer speaks from a place of expertise or command.

Have I forgotten, or feign belief
that control
was never mine to start with.

Maybe I'm becoming less naive
or more sceptic,
I need grace like antiseptic.

Medicine to the proud one
who's thoughts
are fragile with equation.

I want this worship to cost me
let it be wasted on your glory
because you're worth the ruin
and waste has no place in Your Kingdom.

Do you still have the authority
in the decisions I make?
If there's still life in me,
let it not be in vain.

This poem is from a poetry collection of mine called β€˜I Pray Thee, Mark Me’ where I take unusual, defunct or unused glyphs and punctuation as an anchoring theme for the words written in tempest seasons.
