The Extinct Series

This was a little project at university where we were encouraged to create a poster series using various form of typography. I made these dinosaurs from numbers, letters and glyphs and wrote a little piece about each one.. Needless to say I veered away from the original point to the task. Stoked with the outcome though.

I only knew life as a herd. A family constantly on the move, traveling from one patch of abundant flora to the other. Sheltered in the rich vegetation of our time, we were surrounded by an untouched banquet high up in the greenery. Our skyline eyes saw far off distances, a perpetual map which guided our pack to its never-ending destination.

Camouflage was my greatest shield. Blending into the miscellaneous background of our climate; I played the waiting game often to escape a fierce battle with a foe. The unique shards positioned on my spine were a point of prowess, exhibiting war wounds throughout my life. Roaming the forests was a daily routine for me which, alike my other plant-eating friends, became a mundane task until my eventual eternal silence.

Many would flee from me; desperate to save themselves from my monopolised wrath. Rippling the ground with every step, my presence was undoubtable within miles. Arrogance surrounded my demeanour and the inevitable encounter with my prey saw the end of their existence; I reigned King. Despite my absence, my name lives on, a universal silhouetted symbol for my species.
