We love because You first loved us

And in the pain and in the Joy,
let your strength continue on,
let pride fall off our shoulders,
and when we trust and when we pray,
the heart of faith wants to obey,
let Your love in us be bolder

We love because You first loved us

Take us back,
to where we belong,
where Your faithful heart,
is forever strong

We love because You first loved us

And in our hurt and in our doubt,
remind us Lord that you won’t walk out,
You’re gentle to our failings,
so when we shout and when we sing,
help us hear You’re whispering,
and have done through the ages
